Why Should your basketball player attend a junior elite camp?

Proven Results

Thousands of young athletes have started the OtterBasketball training program with our Junior Elite basketball camp. Too many young players watch NBA games and try to skip ahead to becoming the next Steph Curry. Without the proper fundamentals and foundation, young players may never reach their full potential. At this camp, you’ll be given all the training and skills necessary to become a leader on your team, and continue to grow!

WHAT WILL I LEARN IN THE junior ELITE BASKETBALL CAMP?

POINT GUARD BALLHANDLING SKILLS

Much like PGE, our Junior Elite camp focuses on helping you learn to protect the ball and attack a defense. We create leaders on the court, and to lead your team, you need to be trusted with the ball. This camp is the first step in forming the right habits to be your team’s go-to option.

ELITE AND EFFICIENT SHOOTING

Many of our young athletes are undersized, but their incredible shot development has helped them play at the highest collegiate levels. At this camp, we teach our young players skills and drills so they can continue training at home and develop a consistent shot.

PASSING AND OFF-BALL MOVEMENT

You can’t have a point guard camp without teaching the most effective ways to pass, and move without, the ball. There’s a reason Otter kids turn over the ball significantly less than others. Learn where to pass from in relation to the body. Without the ball, you’ll learn where to be, how to screen properly, and much more.

BASKETBALL KNOWLEDGE AND IQ

This applies to ALL aspects of the game, both on and off the court. Knowing when to blow by a defender, when to cross, when to step back and create space, where to be without the ball, how to come off a screen, and everything in between. Learning how to study patterns so that you know what to expect from an opponent. A lot of camps can give you drills and scrimmages, but you’ll only level up to your maximum potential with IQ like this.

DISCIPLINE AND CONSISTENT TRAINING

We always say we train players so that they can learn how to train themselves. Our camps are incredibly valuable to basketball players training to play in college, but that will only happen if you keep a consistent, effective training strategy at home. You’ll leave with a long list of drills, technique, and strategy to keep your own daily workouts going, and reach your highest potential.

“I IMMEDIATELY WAS DRAWN TO THE INTENSITY, ATTENTION TO DETAIL, THE WAY HE MAKES YOU A BETTER PERSON BOTH ON AND OFF THE COURT.”

Frequently Asked Questions

What Ages are Allowed to Attend Junior Elite?

This camp is designed for players entering 4th grade through 7th grade. We prefer not to have players attend younger than 4th grade because this is an intense, very detailed camp. Players will be on the floor for 8+ hours for 4 days. Campers must have the attention span to stay focused on instruction for the entirety.

Is Jason Otter at the camp himself?

Yes! Jason is at every camp providing the lead instruction and demonstration at every OtterBasketball event. The Junior Elite will have one of our experienced and qualified staff members leading the campers through the drills and concepts when Jason is on the Point Guard Elite court. Along with Jason, we have a great staff comprised of college players that have all attended OtterBasketball camps, so they have a clear understanding of the OtterBasketball concepts and principles being taught. They are excellent at correcting players, demonstrating drills or answering questions, helping campers understand the reason they are doing what they’re doing.

Is Supervision Provided for Overnight Campers?

Yes! Overnight accommodation is provided at a hotel near the facility. Players will be transported to and from the hotel and gym on a shuttle or van. OtterBasketball staff serves as chaperones in the hotel. Each camper is assigned a chaperone. Strict rules and instruction is given to the overnight campers and it is a zero tolerance policy if rules are broken. Players may room with a friend if the name is provided at the time of registration, otherwise they will be roomed with another camper of the same gender and age. Parents are not allowed to stay in the camper’s rooms overnight. Overnight accommodation is for players only.
